Good Practices: Drying: Pond soil should be dried overy time the pond is harvested. Periodic drying stabilizes soil colloids and oxidizes organic matters and thus prepare a suitable environment for the growing of the natural fish food.
Bad Practices: Tilling: Tilling is a type of ploughing of land. After harvesting pond should be dried and shallow ploughing is to be done for 12 inches or less to release toxic gases that are accumulated during culture at pond bottom.
